Well, hello ladies, has it ever been a long time since I last posted and I do apologize for that! Where do the days go?? I cherish all of your great posts that you ladies do, and I will tell you that I often go back and read them and find inspiration in what you are all doing in the moment! So Thank you...
Here's to my "Long story short ha"!! I last blogged in January, and there were days when I would think k i'm just going to go and write something "really quick", but before I knew it, my coffee was ready for me, the dryer had stopped, Maui needed to go for a piddle, oh yea and the phone rang, so as you can see I never ended up blogging till now! But how great to be back. Alot has happened in our lives since i've last posted...we have had Quinton come back home from Mjaw which has been the best treat ever. There is nothing I enjoy more in life than all 4 of our kids sitting at the table with Sheldon and I for dinner... topics of conversation are always interesting and Brett always has his wise cracks for everyone. Our boys went to Chicago for a hockey tournament with Brett and on that weekend I became a Scentsy addict, no joke, i'm truly hooked!!! And loving it. So Thank you Charlene for telling me all the time how much I will love them... right now they are all burning, nothing like the feeling of a clean house and the wonderful smells of Scentsy:) We also made a trip to Minniapolis with the kids for hockey again, but that's okay because us girls got to shop. See the treat for me when I go there is this time I got to pick up my favorite lotion that my favorite person in the world wears(char) Almond Coconut milk:) oh the little things that make us happy!! Quinton signed with Florida, huge deal, who ever thought we would have a child on his way to the NHL??? I sure didn't!! The BEST BEST BEST thing that has happened with this whole experience is that Jayda, Danaka and Brett don't treat him any different, he is just their brother, they are very proud of him, but there are still chores he has to do ha! One often wonders how something like this would affect siblings, and to this moment I am truly grateful that they love Quinton for who he is!! Jayda is preparing for grad, oh my ladies, where does the time go? Her dress is beautiful, we are having fun doing the little details of getting shoes, hair apts booked, flowers ordered... but it's another chapter to close of high school and on to University. :( Danaka and Brett are doing great, very busy with soccer and hockey, Danaka amazes me how she never complains about playing when it is freezing cold out! Thanks for letting me babble and babble on about the kids... I miss you all and hope one of these days a trip will work for me to see you. Keep blogging, I love to hear how you all are doing and about your kids, they grow up so quick and we don't want to miss a thing that they are doing. Now let's see, it's almost 10, Durkes have you had your chocolate chips yet?? My chocolate buddy, I love you:)
Have a wonderful week ladies

Inspired:)
So here's the deal with this Cookbook.... my dearest friend Charlene told me this was something I had to get if I could... well little did she know that when she said it was good, I drove that next day all over to try and find it, and I did!! I wanted to have a little piece of what Charlene and her sister Natalie have... makes me feel like we live a little closer ha!! Well this is not only a Cookbook, it's a story, a scrapbook, and an inspiration to try all these new things!! How many times at 3:00 are we wondering what to make for supper and it ends up being something we had a couple of weeks ago... definately happens in this house. So Thank you my dear, I'm so excited to share it with others, I'm buying one for Q's billet Mom, and can't wait to make the Chocolate Cake today :) Have a wonderful day.

Oakbank Canada Pride
What an overwhelming sense of pride our family felt when they asked us to come to the Elementary School for an assembly for Quinton and our family. Everyone in the school was in Red or White, waving Canada flags as we walked down the center of the crowd and chants of Quinton's name being yelled out. Long story short (haha) there were tears of pride and joy as we went up to the center stage. If you know me, I don't enjoy being in the spotlight, but this time they made me do it. Quinton was asked a few questions about his experience at World Juniors, he speaks so well, and then he told the kids that no matter what they do if it is sports, art, or cooking like my mom, always do it the best you can!! Tear !!
